Lisa Crist – Bio & Blog

Where were you born and raised? I was born on June 9th at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, NY to Robert and Janet Wenner. My family moved to Tacoma, WA when I was 3 yrs old and I was raised in that area until I moved out of my parent’s home for my first full-time job after college.

Tell us about your family – I have 2 younger sisters, one of which is foreign missionary and the other is involved in a crisis pregnancy center. Both are married and have kids. My dad still lives in Tacoma, WA and my mom has been in heaven since May of 1988. Rich Crist Jr. is my husband and we have 3 daughters. Breana (oldest) and Jacquelyn (middle) sing in the group with us and Valerie (youngest) is in homeschool highschool and works at the product table with her cousin Colby. Each of our daughters has some personality aspects like Rich and I and yet Breana is so much more like a combination of my middle sister and Rich’s middle sister in personality. Jackie is our impersonator – both famous and non-famous people alike and has electronic fix-it aptitude to spare. Valerie is extremely creative and we believe that given a pair of scissors, paper and a stapler and/or tape, she could construct a small city!

What are your favorite places to eat on the road? I enjoy all ethnic specialty restaurants especially Chinese (no buffet) and Mexican – all sorts – tex-mex, fresh, New Mexican, etc.

What is one interesting talent you have that most people don’t know about? I have a degree in Animal Technology (Veterinary Nurse) and neutered my own cat and probably could still do that procedure if needed.

What are your interest/hobbies? I collect recipes from many sources and specialty cookbooks and own over 95 cookbooks as of now . I love to paint and have been oil painting for about 20 yrs. I specialize in people and have done numerous commissioned works for people in the past. I would “collect” pets if I could. I love animals and would love to have a farm with many “pets” I especially love pygmy goats, pot-bellied pigs, guinea fowl, peacocks, dogs, cats and horses. I currently just have 2 pygmy goats – Bingo and Bongo. They are precious!

What is your personal Testimony? I became a Christ-follower at bible camp when I was eight and have grown in my relationship as I’ve grown up. I have seen the Lord’s protection and blessing many times in my life and know He has carried me through the most difficult trials I have gone through.

What is your musical history? I started my musical journey in 3rd grade when I was on the Autoharp team. I quickly progressed to the clarinet by 5th grade and continued on the instrumental path thru high school in orchestra and marching band. I didn’t start singing until college and actually met Rich in the college choir at church! I’ve always sung the alto part and when Rich is not paying attention I try to sing tenor!

What are your future goals? I will serve the Lord wherever He puts me. That being said, I do have places and things I prefer  such as a warm climate and time to continue my art.

hi again. i was listening to kcis southern gospel radio this evening and i heard a song that brought to mind your group. the radio announcer said the song was from the Crist family singers. i first met you all in Twin Rivers CC in Monroe many years ago. i was there when you bid us farewell as you were going professional. from then on there was a very large hole left in TRCC. after serving 25 years i got out almost 2 years ago. i am having the time of my life out here. i love being single and retired so i can do what i want when i want. i am working for my son doing what ever i can to keep him in front of his computer because he is starting a software business. it is slow but the blessing is he is continually blessed by the Lord and has accomplished many good things in his program. we plan on starting ministries and supporting existing ones with our excess. i am so glad to see you all are successful. i would love to know about Mr. and Mrs Crist and how they are doing. it is so good to hear about you. harold

Good to hear from you Harold! Glad to hear that you are doing well and interested in supporting ministries. Let us know how that progresses – we’ll be praying for many lives to be changed and/or encouraged by your work. As for mom and dad – they “retired” out here in TN near us and are still involved in counseling. In fact, dad heads-up the counseling department at our church! We love having them so close to us and involved in the ministry still. We are planning on being out in the Pacific NW next Jan. as we have concerts scheduled already. Perhaps we’ll be able to see you and your son then! Take care and God Bless, Lisa

Hey Lisa I love all the songs you do. I was wandering if you can give me the words of three of your songs Until He Comes and There Is A Fountain and My Oasis. I love to sing your songs. I have look for the words of them but I couldn’t find them. Thanks? I sing specials at my church and others enjoy one of the songs that you sing There Is No Other Name I got that one and I love it.

I so enjoyed your concert last night in Yuba City, Ca. You don’t know how much you lifted my spirit and was so encouraged in the faith. I’m the one that talked to you about Nascar. God Bless you on your trip to Arz.
